Hello! I'm Sarah, I'm originally from Richmond Virginia in the USA, but have been living in Berlin, Germany since 2009. I am formally trained as a fashion designer/seamstress, but have been working as an ESL teacher here in Berlin for the last 8 years, as well as developing my small accessories label, forkitdesign.com I have taught all levels of English to all ages of students. I currently work at a Helen Doron learning centre with a focus on young learners. I made my first piece of clothing at 5 year old out of one of my moms old skirts and my jewellery and accessories label is rooted in using recycled goods. This is really my specialty, taking something old or discarded and breathing new life into it. I have given several fashion design workshops to pre/teens, as well as workshops which combine ESL with a more creative approach, such as specialised English lessons for artists and designers, where English is being taught through the process of a creating a project.
