Hi, my name is Maria and I have been a teacher for almost thirty years of my life. I have been working with children from the ages of five to adults having been a tutor and educator for a very long time in Malaysia. I enjoy working with children because it gives me an opportunity to encourage and empower them to excel in themselves. I am a people-oriented person with strong interpersonal skills and good communication skills. I also worked with a group of underprivileged children, many of whom came under the United Nations Refugee program for the last six years using an American curriculum. Most of the children who came did not receive the opportunity to be schooled. We had lots of fun time together as I organized outdoor activities as well for them. I helped the children by teaching them Phonics and vocabulary so that it could enhance their reading ability. I think it is an golden opportunity to teach online as it provides a wider horizon to meet new friends across the globe.
